Each year CBI supports the 12K run at the Big Sur International Marathon. We assist with 6 stations along the 12K route in Point Lobos. We commit to 12 volunteers and in doing so receive a donation of over $1000. It is a really fun event, and you will also receive a free volunteer tee shirt!

Schedule:

• 6 AM - We meet at the mouth of Carmel Valley, walk to Point Lobos (approximately 2.2 miles), and set up at the 5 stations along the race route inside the park and 1 station at the entrance.
• 7:35 AM - The race starts and the racers show up a little while after that. Our job is to cheer them, and make sure they don’t get lost or make a wrong turn.
• 10 AM - The final racers are usually out of Point Lobos by 10am. There is a volunteer food tent at the mouth of the valley. We usually stop there on the way back.
