From Schmattes to Shekels: Who Gets What? A Jewish Lens on Estates & Inheritance
Sunday, March 8, 2026 • 19 Adar 5786
3:00 PM - 5:00 PMCBIIn this workshop, we will review the terms most commonly used in the estate planning process and translate them into plain English. We will also explore and break down into consumable pieces the primary concepts, the core building blocks, used to build an estate plan. Lastly, we will discuss how to power through some of the more sticky decisions. The goal is to arm you with sufficient understanding and knowledge to approach the process with confidence. Humor will be used throughout.

Presented by Yvonne Ascher, Estate Attorney
This is the third session in a workshop series that began at the end of January. We strive to have each interactive session include a safe place for sharing, and an opportunity for participants to take first steps toward completing plans for the end of life. Our experience is that these conversations can be joyful and comforting (and surprisingly fun).
You can participate in these sessions as a series, or individually. They are free of charge; donations to CBI’s Ozrim Restricted Fund are appreciated. Please register for each event separately. All workshops will be held at CBI. They are open to the entire Monterey Peninsula Jewish Community - invite others to attend with you.
