This training is the crux of our work and covers situational awareness, bringing a security mindset to receiving visitors, run-hide-fight, bomb threat response and the power of hello. Join in the CBI Social Hall on August 24th at 2:30 PM. Rafi Brinner leads the Federation's Community Security Program that provides security training, guidance, and technical assistance to synagogues, day schools, community organizations, and other Jewish nonprofits in Northern California. Rafi and his team work to elevate the Jewish community’s security preparedness and resilience in the face of rising hate and antisemitism, drawing on an array of best practices. Rafi joined the Federation in 2018 after a 23-year federal career in counterterrorism that took him to Washington DC, London, and back to California. A Bay Area native and Cal graduate, Rafi holds master’s degrees from Northwestern University and the former Monterey Institute of International Studies.
