CBI Welcomes Rabbi Jeffrey Glickman as Interim Rabbi
The Rabbi Search Team and Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Rabbi Jeffrey Glickman will be joining our community as Interim Rabbi beginning July 1, 2025.
About Rabbi Glickman and His Family
Rabbi Glickman brings decades of rabbinical experience to our congregation. Most recently, he served as the spiritual leader of Temple Beth Hillel in South Windsor, Connecticut, as well as chaplain to the Fire and Police Departments. He understands the importance of answering the call and showing up. Throughout his distinguished career, Rabbi Glickman has been known for his engaging teaching style, pastoral care and commitment to social justice initiatives. Rabbi Glickman will be joined by his wife, Mindy Glickman (a longtime friend of CBI members, Marian and Jeff Sosnick), who has been an active partner in his rabbinic work throughout their marriage. Together, they have seven grown children, including a daughter who lives in Santa Cruz with her family.
Rabbi Jeff and Mindy were ambassadors on behalf of the URJ, traveling to 38 small Reform synagogues to help and honor the communities by presenting the Ner Tamid Award of Reform Judaism. Our own Congregation Beth Israel was the recipient of this award in 2023. Rabbi Glickman was ordained at HUC in 1987, and holds a public-school teaching certification, MBA and doctorate. He is the author of several books on Jewish spirituality and has many licensed games. He favors shorter worship, with music and Torah readings as the highlights.
Leadership During Transition
As our Interim rabbi, Rabbi Glickman will guide worship services, provide pastoral care, teach adult education classes, and work with our religious school while the search committee continues its work to identify our next settled rabbi. His extensive experience helping congregations during periods of transition will be invaluable during this important time. "This is such a vibrant community that each of you, and Rabbi Bruce and Cantor Alisa, have built up. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to serve you at this wonderful moment in your history." The Board extends its gratitude to the Interim Rabbi Search Team for their thoughtful and diligent work in this selection process. We are confident that Rabbi Jeff Glickman's leadership will provide stability and inspiration during this transitional period.
